Sal’s ability to plan, coordinate and lead a Bike Tour is top notch! He has knowledge of the surrounding area’s and beyond, and also an in depth knowledge of Early American History that can and will add an entirely new level of enjoyment to a ride.
I had two large groups on two separate occasions and we had a great time. Our groups were a big range in age, as well, from 2-40, but it wasn't an issue at all. Sal was so nice and accommodating to us. Bikes are great, the location is beautiful, it's a perfect ride. Don't miss the dam, the covered bridge, the river. I would highly recommend renting from Bicycle Tours in Kent, CT!
I can't say enough nice things about the bikes, the service, and the area. Sal provided maps that were super clear and informative, the bike was perfectly suitable to the level of the ride and the quality of the road, and Sal's kindness in both our arrival and our return will remain memorable. I have biked in a lot of interesting places, and using this shop's service in Kent only whetted my appetite for more biking in that corner of Connecticut. Just beautiful! I don't always come across service so useful and friendly, so I'm glad I found The Bicycle Tour Co.!
I came across the Bicycle Tour Company in 2011 after searching for a great way to culminate our new Bicycling Curriculum at Hillcrest Middle School in Trumbull CT. Our trip has been so great that we have returned every year with our 7th graders. Sal has always been so accommodating and flexible with the preparation of the trip. Sal does a great job planning for all potential risks that our students may encounter during our trip. From a great bike ride to a great lunch Sal has always exceeded our expectations. You should stop by if for no other reason than just to say hi to Sal. He'll bust you for sure, but I've met very few people as kind and genuine. He is also a bike genius. My brother and I were passing through Kent on a long ride and had a derailleur issue that should have been the end of our trip. Instead, we stumbled across Sal and we were back on the road in 30 minutes, all out of the goodness of his heart. He runs a great operation and you couldn't find a more passionate guy to help you find a good ride in CT. Beautiful area, great bikes, spectacular owner... it all adds up to a top-notch experience. You've got to check it out.
He and his staff capably support the rides, keeping things safe and rolling in the right direction. His bike mechanic support and skills are worth their weight in gold… I have enjoyed multiple Tours with Sal and have seen him work with all different level of riders… from beginner, to intermediate, to expert… and all at the same time!! Fantastic!
