I attended the fife about 2 months ago on a Friday.I really loved the food, The staff was very friendly, but there was one waiter I did not like. It was a tall Mexican teenager.(about 19 years old)I sat at a table near the bar, This waiter who I saw was doing a check, I heard him swearing and saying words like ''what the f**k is this? In a angry version. He may seem like a nice waiter but I don't like how he swears and he also never smiles. He is the only waiter I did not like. The other wait staff was very friendly. This is not a good place to attend to, I will never come back until that waiter leaves. The photo of a waiter setting up a table is the waiter that swears a lot
We weren't able to eat here but our stay in the inn was absolutely lovely! We were in room 7 which was very spacious and very nicely renovated. Clean, comfortable and all the necessary amenities to make for a relaxing stay.
I chose the Hanger Steak dinner for my main course. All of the menu choices sounded delicious. The steak was presented and prepared as I requested. I enjoyed my dinner very much. However, it was more than I had initially wanted. I wantec a quick bite to eat, bar food style. Yet, once I sat down I was pleasantly surprised by the food choices. Given the atmosphere, the pricing matches it with higher price for the meal.
I've attended many dinners and functions at Fife and drum, and it's always a treat. Great food, talented staff and a wonderful bar (ask for Tobias). An institution of Kent
